Knitting Updates

I finished up some fingerless gloves w/ mitten caps for Carl yesterday. I made an identical pair for his brother, Mark, for Christmas. He is serving his mission in Denver so they are probably coming in rather handy. Carl liked them so much that he requested a pair. I'm glad they are finished. I used the Urban Necessity pattern as my guide but omitted the chart on the mitten cap. I used Cascade 200 wool (charcoal color) and size 6 needles. I messed up a lot and looking back I wish I had not followed the pattern and just done my own thing. I'm probably going to make some of these for my dad and stepmom for Christmas but I'll follow the pattern in my head.

To reward me for finishing that project, I cast on last night for the Pinwheel sweater. I'm still trying to decide exactly what to do with the colors. I only have 4 different colors (it calls for 7). I think I have a good plan. Only time will tell. I'm making this for Eva.

I'm still plugging away on a few other projects. Maybe I'll update those later this week.

  2. I'm so glad to see you are getting to start the sweater! Nice reward for yourself after doing mittens, I think. :)

Those gloves were AWESOME. They should serve him well.
