Girls Weekend 2007

I think it's time to start planning Girls Weekend 2007, don't you? You know you want to come. Here are the requirements:
1. Be a girl over the age of 18.
2. Pay your own way (or find someone to pay for you).
3. Be fun.

I think that's about it. We'll probably do it over Memorial Day weekend again.

Here you can read about last year's weekend. We had quite a good time, I must admit.

Where should we go? Here are some places that have been brought up so far:

1. Las Vegas
2. Branson, MO
3. Mall of America (in Minnesota)
4. Any place there is an IKEA.

Comments are open, as usual.

  1. I'd like to add Phoenix to the list, great shopping (IKEA, outlet malls, etc....).

  2. There is an Ikea in D.C. too.

  3. Well, we never did do Branson during our Lambda Delta Sigma days like we wanted to...Otherwise, I like the "anyplace there's an IKEA" category.

  4. Ok, if it's Mall of America or involves an IKEA are we renting a UHaul truck to carry our load back??

  6. I *might* be able to swing Branson, but everywhere else in consideration is too far. But, don't plan it around me!

I live within 3 hours of an IKEA store, but haven't gone yet. But, I know loads of people that go down all the time. The rumor around Norman (I think more like a dream) is that one is coming here to the super shopping area going up between Robinson and Tecumseh Rds We shall see. . .

  7. You know, I've never been to Branson. I did go to Solver Dollar City once when I was about 7. Is that the same place?

  8. Silver Dollar City is about 20 minutes away from Branson. Am I right? Or is it even closer? It's not far, I know that. Branson is pretty fun. There's a lake and lots of shows. Not a lot of upscale shopping (think not too hip Grandmas) but I'm sure we'd get to see some Osmonds.

  9. Tiffany-- I bet it really is a wicked rumor and has very little truth to it. As much as I'd love to see an IKEA in Norman, I can't imagine why they would put one there. Although, they are building one in Draper, UT so anything's possible.

  10. Tiffany and Christy-Sadly, I agree that IKEA is only a wicked rumor. And that's probably a good thing for my budget. If you drive to one three hours away, it's because you have a really good idea of what you want to buy and you don't go that often. Put one 15 minutes from my house? A very different story.

  11. Some third cousin Osmonds? Hahahahaha. Really anywhere is fine with me. There is a rumor in my family that they might make a Florida trip on Memorial Day Weekend. So, I'm a maybe now.
