The girl's weekend was a huge success. We left Thursday morning to drive 8 1/2 hours to Breckenridge, CO. This was the view from our room.Kellie and Shelley came up from Colorado later so they didn't have a chance to eat with us that first night at Bubba Gump's. In this picture is Megan (Mary's sister), Hollie, and Mary. The food was pretty darn good and was a good way to start our weekend. The next day, most of us went to a salon to get pampered. I got a haircut and highlights. Here is my before picture. You'll have to see the after shot later in the post at the crepe stand (however...I must tell you that the "after" picture was taken the next day and I didn't have any product there to style my hair with).
I didn't get ANY knitting done on this trip like I had planned. I had an unexpected sports injury. All that competitive knitting and computer game playing has put a strain on my arm. I have it in a brace right now and it's been hurting like a bugger. Hollie massaged it for me (she's a professional) a couple of times but I don't know if it's going to get better anytime soon.
Megan and Mary left a night before the rest of us and missed out on our crepe extravaganza. I did manage to get some pictures of them before they left. So, back to the crepes. Yummy! Here's the stand where they make them. The guys there were really funny.
Hollie, Shelley, and I were chowing down. Kellie took the pictures because she finished hers in two bites. Kellie took some time out to smile in front of the sign. Here are some of the other highlights of girl's weekend: Go Goddess, Upwords, Laguna Beach marathon, Megan's lasagna, hot tub. Am I missing anything else?
By the time Sunday rolled around, we were ready to get back to our families. I think they were glad to see us back, too.

Love the haircut and it looks like it was a blast! I caught the Laguna Beach marathon too! I'm such a reality show junkie!! Welcome back!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like so much fun. I'm glad you had a blast. Now, do you feel rested and ready for the real world or are you itching to go back again as soon as possible?

I was ready to come home and I'm not too anxious to get out again. I did miss my babies (even though I wasn't crazy enough to spend my whole vacation worrying or thinking about them all the time!).
ReplyDeleteDo you think you'll be up for next year, Catherine? ;)
Go Goddess!
ReplyDeleteHmmmmm you are your mother's daughter.
Mom
Yes, that was fun! Good Times! I think you covered everything. Except for, Kellie's husband and kids crashing the party the last night. Crazy Forrest family. Oh, Gary found a hair in his crepe. He's not going there again.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea what my life is going to look like next year, so I can't commit. We've decided to start the job search process next spring no matter what. I want a house, dagnabit! Would you still be my friend if I moved to Texas?

looks like fun! it's good to take a great break like that!
ReplyDeleteCatherine--I would visit you every year if you moved to Texas! We're actually thinking of having our girl's weekend in San Antonio next year...and you don't have to commit until the last minute!
ReplyDeleteSorry I missed the crepes! I still want to hear about the last day and your partying!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun time!! I'm glad you were ready to be home. I hope you heal up so you can get back to knitting.
ReplyDeleteThat weekend was Hot!! Although, I could have lived without the day you all left and then that night when lucy (5) threw up in the hotel bathroom at 11pm after I took some Nyquil at 9:30pm. OH well. Thanks for the good time. Later Gator!
