You all will thank me that I have no pictures to go along with this story.
Yesterday was a big day at our house. We were meeting a Special Education grad student from UNL for the first time. She's going to be working with Caleb for one of her classes. In addition to that we had Caleb's speech pathologist and one of the para-professionals from his school out to work on his program in our quest for me to gain "instructional control" (it's working!). All of this is supposed to take place during Eva's nap time.
Eva didn't nap yesterday. We tried. She was in her crib. I could just hear her playing and jumping around in there. When we were almost done, Linda (the para) asked if she could go and get Eva. She went in there and she called out to me that there was some fingerpainting I needed to take care of. Huh? She doesn't have any finger paints in her crib.
See where this is going?
Poop. All over poop. Stinky, gross poop. I got Eva into the bathtub and Linda gave her a bath while I finished up with the student that needed to leave. I don't think Linda was expecting to have to do that when she came over yesterday!

Oh sick! Has she ever done that before? I am sooooo glad that Logan hasn't done anything like that...so far. I would die! I am sorry you had to clean that up...nasty, yucky, gross!
ReplyDeleteDid you give her a cold bath? My SIL did that to her son whenever he had poop painting issues, and it cured him quick.Apparently it happened a lot with him. Again, gross!
It's a memory!

Oh Christy, I'm so sorry. Don't you just hate how kids choose the most inopportune times to do those types of things. I hope she chooses not to do that again. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteIs there an opportune time for them to play with their own poop???? I'm so surprised I didn't barf in front of everyone.
ReplyDeleteWill Eva ever live that one down??! I can't imagine how that must have looked/smelled. I hope she confines her art to more conventional media.
ReplyDeleteIt is a miracle from heaven that you didn't barf. I may just barf reading about it. Disgusting. I hope you have a poop free day today...well, you know what I mean.
ReplyDeleteNow we know that you did not barf....that opens the door to all sorts of things....if you know where I am going with this :)

Dwain did that when he was little and my mom still talks about it. You were blessed that Linda gave her a bath, at least.
ReplyDeleteOnce when B was little, I had some flu-like illness. I was home by myself and Ben had a massive diarrhea diaper that leaked out all over the place. I offered Tera (next-door neighbor) $5 to change it. She did it (without pay). I told her to just throw away the onesie that he was wearing under his clothes.
Well, enough on the subject of poop . . .
wanna borrow my crib tent? Then at least the poop is contained.
ReplyDeleteeww.
Wendy-she was still in her crib and it was mostly contained (thank goodness). It was actually not that difficult to clean up--just gross and stinky!
