We wanted to watch the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl this evening. Unfortunately for us, the Fox station here was experiencing technical difficulties. We've resorted to "watching" the game on Yahoo! Sports by refreshing the box score and play by play. We can only assume that the game was awesome. We were down 28-20 until late in the 4th quarter. We scored, got the two point conversion to tie it up. Then, we got an interception return for another 7 points. It was looking good. We almost turned off the computer. Then, with 18 seconds left Boise State scored a touchdown. They didn't go for the 2 points so they ended up with a tie 35-35. We scored in overtime so the final was OU 42- Boise St. 35. UPDATE: I turned off the computer and we turned on ESPN to see the highlights of our big win. Imagine my surprise when I see that Boise State actually won when they scored with the 2 point conversion from their overtime touchdown. Dang it all. And DARN YOU, FOX!!!
Oh yeah, Nebraska lost to Auburn. We got to actually watch that game.

Definitely Darn you Fox!! My Dad was actually AT the game! He had a box seat, front row, just five feet from where all the final action took place! That ridiculous trick last play and even the marriage proposal! Crazy game!
ReplyDeleteWhat marriage proposal? They didn't show that on ESPN.
ReplyDeleteIt was an amazing game. I'm sorry that you missed it all. One of the players proposed to his girlfriend. (One of the Cheerleaders.) She said yes!
ReplyDeleteTry and catch sportscenter this morning.
ReplyDeleteThe guy that took the trick play from the quarterback and scored, ran right over and proposed to his girlfriend (a cheerleader). I'll keep it on my DVR so you can see it.
Ready for school to start tomorrow? Me TOO!!
Being from Idaho, I have to say "Go Broncos!". That was one of the best games ever...I know...a little cheezy with the marriage proposal, but fun to watch, huh!
ReplyDeleteTony's comment when he read your post..." Ahhh...it's not a good football year for the Nelson's. Both their teams lost!"
ReplyDeleteSo sorry.
Christy, My parents and brother and sister-in-law went to the game as well. . . my Dad claims it was the best bowl game in history. (Probably since he was cheering for BSU.) I hadn't thought of checking out Yahoo. We are without cable. . .I would have liked to have watched it--I feel your pain.
ReplyDeleteBTW--who is the CEO and what part of Idaho are they from??? Just curious being an Idahoan myself. :)
ReplyDeleteAndrea- the ceo is my friend Shanna. Her link is in my sidebar but she had an unfortunate usb cable accident and hasn't been able to update her blog in a while.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Christy. She looks nice--like she's from Idaho or something. :)
