Las Vegas

With so much to see and do, Las Vegas would be an excellent location for Girls Weekend. Acommodations are reasonable, fabulous food to be had (even not so fabulous cheap buffets if you're willing to risk it), all kinds of shows and shopping, etc...

It's an easy day's drive from Rio Rancho, NM. From Lincoln, we can fly there non-stop for $59 each way but they only have flights on Wed and Sat. If we decide to do Vegas we may need to modify exactly when we go to fit that flight schedule. Otherwise, it's almost $400 to fly from Omaha anytime.

The weather should be nice (not TOO hot yet). Shows are going to be expensive if anyone wants to go to one. I will need to be kept busy so I don't play the nickel slots (ha ha, Shanna) at all hours.

Mary--can you blog about the virtues of Phoenix?

  1. Given the fact that I was married in Vegas, and a big fan of the place in general, I say have your girls' weekend in Sin City. Might I recommend staying at the Flamingo? Rooms are clean and tactfully decorated, the gardens are extraordinarily beautiful, and the pools are surrounded by lush vegetation. Not to mention, it's smack in the middle of the strip.

For food, Margaritaville can't be beat (at the Flamingo-- same with their buffet) and over at Harrah's is Toby Keith's I Love This Bar & Grill. Now that's some good food!

Don't forget the outlet shopping (take the Deuce and ride for 24-hours on $5 to anywhere on the strip, plus down to Fremont Street).

Yep, if you want anymore info, hit me up at the guild meeting.

People could also fly to Albuquerque and drive up with Mary and I! :>
