Hot Stuff

I roasted a chicken yesterday. I'm so domestic. Back when I was the Queen of Pampered Chef, I got their digital thermometer. I can find everything but the actual thermometer. I even have that plastic case thingy. The probe? Found it. But, where the heck is the actual thermometer?
Apparently my domesticatedness is refined enough that I didn't need that darn thing in the first place. My chicken was divine. I used it in a super-secret Pillsbury Bake-off recipe contender. It was pretty yummy but needs some fine tuning. We're going to be eating a lot of chicken around here in the next few weeks.

  1. Hey Christy,

That sounds just like something I would do, keep the wrapper but not the device :) I'm glad the chicken turned out anyway! Hey I have a favor to ask of you and I thought this would be the easiest and least suspicious to Dr. Nelson. I would like to get your husband a thank you gift for everything he's done. I really want something nice which he can remember 'his first masters student experience' by but would be useful/valuable to him. Any ideas? For example one of my friend's advisor gave many of his lectures in PowerPoint format and he always wanted a reliable laser pointer, so she gave him an engraved green laser pointer for her graduation gift. Let me know if you think of anything. I will probably try to have it by May 5 (graduation). Thank you! Kimberly kimberly.ryland@gmail.com

  3. Christy, I haven't had time to read blogs all week so today I read about knitting (bummer!!); Shoes (they all look good but go for what feels good!); the garden (I'm throwing out some radish and beets seeds before I leave); hair do (you'd look cute in anything!!) and the chicken (pampered chef may be surprised to know that people have cook delicious chicken for centuries with a thermometer!)
    Keep on blogging!!
