Don't hate me, but I wasn't a big New Kids fan when they were popular. If I had to choose, I'd pick Joey though. I'm excited that they're back. I hope Debbie Gibson comes back.
Actually, I was a little too old to think NKOTB was really cool at the time. Then I got invited to see them in concert to "babysit" a younger girl. It was really good! So, I've been Hanging Tough ever since. ;)
I was obsessed with the New Kids. When I was about 9 my mom let me order their big concert on Pay Per View and have friends over for a New Kids party. We all wore our New Kids t-shirts and then had a slumper party on our New Kids pillow cases (I am dead serious- I had the pillow cases). I remember liking Joey, Jordan, Donny, Jon, and danny-- in that order. :)
I was also infatuated with Debbie Gibson- I knew every word to every song, and I had all her albums (yup- actual records!).
What is it about your blog that makes me want to reveal all my inner nerdiness?
Omg Lauren! You had the pillowcases! That's dedication. I was like that about Milli Vanilli. I don't know what that says about me except that I clearly have excellent taste in lip synchers. They were the best!
I'm all for the reunion tour, I was a little old for them too, but my sis-in-law was one of those freak out teenyboppers.
Also, when Joey McIntyre made his solo album maybe about 5-6 years ago? He performed at Southpointe pavillions for an outdoor show and I was totally there!
OK I too feel the need to comment.... I was so in love with Jon the quiet shy one.... I went to two concerts after camping out for tickets!!! Had my picture taken with Donnie Wahlbergs mom... and so rode in a car next to their Limo before a concert and they rolled down the window and said hello. I also owned the pillowcase concert on VHS, mags and at one point had a few of their dolls. Now sounds like a good time for Claire to love them and me follow along :) (like a great mom of course)
Milli Vanilli!! AAAAAAAAA!!! I actually heard one of their songs on the radio the other day. Of course, I was singing along and Ben asked who it was by. OK, he thought I was crazy when I told him the whole story. I still have my shirt, though.
