While The Boys Are Away

With Carl in Vegas and my kids being super star sleepers (in bed by 7-7:30pm), I have my evenings free to get some stuff done. I need to be working on my Project Lincoln design but I'm waiting for some Knit Picks needles to arrive. The lacy pattern has k4tog and my addi turbos just weren't up for task, to put it bluntly. Pun intended.

I figured it was time to re-organize my stash. This is about 1/3 of what I have. I also have a mountain of projects that never quite realized their potential and are waiting to be ripped. I also have a pile of finished objects that need to be put away, given away, or sold. Since taking this picture, I'm about halfway through the stash now and things are looking better. I caught a glimpse of the floor in the closet. I'm going to work on it some more tonight unless those needles show up by some other carrier other than USPS.

  1. Just an FYI - I have a friend who is now making prayer shawls for cancer patients if you feel the need to purge any yarn.... I sent some of mine out yesterday - SHe lives in Michigan.....

First of all, I hope you are photographing the stash for you-know-what!
Second, you made me feel better knowing that you have some UFO's that need to be ripped.
Lastly, you have now inspired me to sort through mine again!

  3. jane-I am getting ready for you-know-what! I'm still about 2000 people away but I'm hoping it comes quickly.

It is also nice because I was having problems coming up with things I could knit from the stash. That was mainly because I forget what I have. Going through it reminds me of all the projects I had in mind when I actually purchased the yarn.

Good luck with the frogging! It feels really good to frog something that is not wearable or cute and turning it back into yarn stash!
