Smart Habit Saturday

I failed miserably at my laundry habit for the week. I actually made a bigger mess than usual. C'est la vie. I am still keeping up the bedtime routine, though, and it is FABULOUS! I really like having a bedtime because it forces me to use my childless evenings wisely. Although, not wisely enough because I did not use them to put away the laundry! I think if I don't have the pressure to get it done, I'll be more apt to do it. That's why I'm not going to work on the laundry habit again this week.

This week I'm going to cook. Out of all the weeks in September, this is the one where Carl will be home the most. I kind of got out of the habit of preparing a regular meal because the kids and I would just eat whatever and whenever we wanted. Spaghetti and applesauce at 3:30pm? No problem! I'm making my grocery list this afternoon and heading out to prepare my house for a week of good eating.

  1. Good luck this week. Cooking and never ends! ;)

  2. We would have much better meals around here if I could just get someone to do the grocery shopping! Happy cooking!

  3. Here's an off-the-wall idea to solve your laundry problem: Pass the buck! Get small bins for the kids and put their clean clothes in them, and then have a "putting away the clothes" game, contest, or routine where they help you put things away. At first it will be more work, but eventually, the job will be theirs entirely, not yours.
