A House Divided

Carl got home yesterday during halftime of the football game. I told him that I was taping the game and he could watch the first half while I went out to get a pedicure (my reward for keeping the kids alive while he was gone) and to the store to replenish the pantry. He said he had already listened to most of the game on the drive back from Omaha. While I was soaking my feet waiting for the technician to start my pedicure something occurred to me. The football game I was talking about wasn't the one he was listening to. When I was talking about THE football game, I was referring to the OU/Miami game. When was talking about the football game, he was referring to Nebraska/Wake Forest*. Maybe there is something in the water fountain at his work that is taking all the crimson and cream out of his blood? I don't know. For me, college football will always mean Boomer Sooner around here.

*I do watch the Cornhuskers play and enjoy it immensely. But if I have a choice between an OU game and the Huskers, I'm going to have to choose OU---always!

Thanks for the chuckle. Who won the game(games)?

  2. I'm so glad to hear your blood is still crimson and cream.

In response to your comment on my blog, I DO in fact remember the mid 80's Sooner/Miami hatefest, but it was like sooo uncool to like what your parents liked when I was 13, so Miami earned my contempt for them all on their own.

  3. We won them both. OU 51-13 and Nebraska 20-17.

  4. Really it's just a "slight" change of blood color. Since NU's colors are actually Scarlet and Cream. And hooray for Caleb this morning! (p.s. he was my star singer yesterday)

The OU game was by far the better matchup. I love seeing the evil FL schools humbled...
