Book Group

I've been writing about books a lot lately. Hmmm. Book group is tonight and we are choosing the books we will be reading for the next 12 months. I've got a couple of books in mind to suggest but I'm really looking forward to reading some new books. The way we do it is we all make our suggestions and then we vote for 12. The top 12 vote getters are our choices.

What three books would you suggest?

Stay tuned for a giveaway from me tomorrow!

I just finished East Of Eden by Steinbeck. A classic, and SO good.

  2. I think that Queen Bee Moms and Kingpin Dads would be a really interesting book to discuss. It's by the woman who wrote the book that inspired the movie Mean Girls and it's all about adult social hierarchies and how to navigate them and rise above them.

  3. I don't have three to suggest, but when i was part of a reading group i always suggested the same title (it never got picked) Mama Day
Warning: if you hate the first chapter don't give up the rest will make up for it.

  4. Our group chose Mama Day last year. It was not well received. I didn't even get a chance to start the book that month so after hearing the discussion, I decided not to bother.

  5. These are just off the top of my head, but I really enjoyed all of them and think they would make great book group books! (The first one was a book I chose for book group last year.) I'm always on the lookout for new books, even if I don't have the time to read them, so let us know what you choose!

    1. These Is My Words, by Nancy E. Turner
    2. The Rapture of Canaan, by Sheri Reynolds
    3. The Witches, by Roald Dahl (my favorite Roald Dahl book!)

  6. We just read The Memory Keeper's Daughter for our book group. Man, it has a TON of stuff you can discuss. Book group can last a long time with this one. Have you read it already? I really liked it. That's about all I have read that is book group worthy.
