If you'd like to participate in I Made it Myself this week, please take a moment to read over the rules.
This week I have my Lizard Ridge blanket to share. This has been a labor of love for just over a year. I was never in a hurry to finish it. I just wanted to enjoy it. And, I did!
There are 20 squares. Each one is unique. I used approximately 15 skeins (including the leftovers). Some of those squares are made up of little chunks of a bunch of different skeins.
Once I seamed it up, I realized that I wasn't a fan of the back. So...I went to The Quilted Kitty (a quilt shop just down the street from my house) and found some gorgeous flannel (soft and on sale!). It is a really pretty orange color that really compliments the blocks. I'm very happy with the way it turned out.
I still need to handstitch the backing to the afghan in one corner and then I'm going to use some leftover yarn to tie it together. I'm going to have the ties be on the back. I think it will look really great.
Do you have something you'd like to show off today that you made yourself? Blog about it and come back here to share the link!
