Two Years...Still Nothing to Say

I've been doing this blogging thing for two years now. It started off innocently enough. I was joining in on the knit blogging phenomenon so I could participate in some of the events going on in blogworld. It wasn't too difficult to come up with a name. The Crafty Conservative. I signed up for a blog right after the 2004 elections. Remember those? The majority of knitbloggers that I read were going crazy about the election and frankly, I didn't agree with a lot of their opinions. I'm not as conservative as a lot of people but I certainly lean right on most things. I thought I could be a welcome place for people that share my values. Know what? I don't think I've blogged about politics at all and I'm not planning on starting anytime soon. But, other knitbloggers can know that there are some of us that voted for Bush and aren't disappointed with that decision (yet). As for this upcoming election, I'm still undecided--especially in our Senate race. It's been really nasty. I guess I am going to blog about politics right now. I have two choices. Ben Nelson- a middle of the road democrat or Pete Ricketts- a millionaire businessman republican with what seem to me some sound economic ideas. We shall see on Tuesday what I end up doing. All of the other races are pretty clear to me what I'm going to do and I am crossing party lines on a couple. Nebraska democrats are a LOT different than those found in some other states. Okay, I'm done.

Now back to what this blog is really about. More of my insane life.

Here is a picture of my whole face with the new hair color since Hollie requested it.

Hopefully this face will undergo some changes in the next few months. Plastic surgery? Nope. Not my style. But, I now have a PERSONAL TRAINER! What? How did that happen? I won a silent auction at the YMCA and now I have a personal trainer for 6 sessions. I'm asking for $ for Christmas to fund future sessions with said personal trainer. I'm asking for some other stuff too. Maybe you all should check out the updated 2006 version of the Nelson Christmas List blog! Carl still hasn't given me a list yet so you'll have to check back for that one.

You can also expect to hear more about the kids. Here we are enjoying a nice dinner courtesy of the Sunday School class I subbed for that week I had a REALLY BAD DAY at church. They asked Carl what I like to eat and he told them pizza, yellow cake and diet Pepsi. So, that's what I got! They also wrote me some really great apology notes. I think they'll be good if I sub for them anytime again.

I really need to wrap this post up. I only have a few hours before I have to go and set up for the craft fair. I'm not really as prepared for this one as I would like to be. But, I'm sure it will be fine. I'll probably do an update or so again in the next few days.

Your hair looks really really good. I think you should keep it. It looks natural. Your face looks skinny. Are you still dieting or something?

Subbing for primary is the worst. After Merrill subbed one time in Indiana for a sunbeam class with TWO children he decided we were never going to have kids. Whoever thinks children are innoccent, meek and mild have never met one in real life. I'm glad they made it up to you. That looks like a yummy dinner.

  2. You're so hot! I love the color!

That dinner looks yummy. Last week we had a primary teacher for Valiant 11 leave the class crying. Our Bishopric counselor had to go in there with another Dad who is huge and imtimidating. They were going to play good cop/bad cop but ended up a little more Rodney King-ing it. They took one of the perps by his coat collar and drug him out of the room. I'm not too surpised by that since he has been heckling me in sharing time.

Two days ago, four of our youth were arrested for vandalizing cars. They broke 20 windshields of members cars. They were 14-16 years old. One might get charged as an adult. The worst thing? They all came from super wonderful spiritual families. Seriously, what is wrong with kids these days?

  3. Wow Mary, that is crazy!

Christy, I love the hair. I like how it matches you glasses. It looks really good. That Pizza does look good.

Yeah, and about the politics thing you were mentioning. I have a hard time getting into them. As far as I'm concerned they are all liars. They make up these bills or whatever that we have to vote for with these great names that make them sound good, but if you read the fine print they are nothing like what the name of it sounds like. I have noticed that they talk a lot more about politics out here. Maybe it's because we are so close to D.C.? I do listen and learn about what they are saying, but I choose not to really care at the moment. Maybe I'll change, but not any time soon.

  4. I'm glad you all like the hair color. I like it more and more each day.

Those windshield breaking youth deserve punishment for sure! Yours wasn't one that was broken was it, Mary?

Catherine-I'm always dieting. Except when people bring me pizza and cake for dinner. I wonder what this personal trainer will be able to do with me? If I get small enough I may even enjoy running. As of right now the boobage is a little too bouncy...even with the super tight Oprah bra. TMI? I thought so.

Oh man, I just bought new bras. Cup size A all the way! Although, when I stop nursing I may not be so buxom.

  7. Not my car, we always park in the garage (and always will now!). Jason says they should have the book thrown at them big time. We'll see, first offense and all. NM isn't know for being tough on criminals, especially if they get a judge who is a cousin or something...

  8. I like your hair. I can't believe the stupid elections aren't over yet. I remember the Ben Nelson/Pete Ricketts adds from when we lived in NE. Sheesh! You are the only person I know that can score dinner off the Sunday School class. Good for you.

  9. Congrats on your two year anniversary. I don't know why, but the last 3 posts all showed up on Friday. The one from the 28th was the lastest entry until then. Very strange.
