We signed Caleb up to do a mini-soccer camp this week. We thought it would be a good starting point to see if it is something he likes.
He loves to kick the ball. He's actually pretty good at it. He's not so good at paying attention. Plus, some of the games they played were hard to understand. I had to go and fetch him a couple of times because he wandered off to kick his ball somewhere else.
His coach is from England. He talks really quickly and Caleb kind of zones him out. Oh well. We're going to practice some of the moves this afternoon so he'll be more prepared for practice today. Caleb is excited he got his own ball with his name on it.
Eva didn't have such a fun time at the soccer field. We tried to keep her occupied. At one point we lost her. One minute she was sitting with us and the next she was gone. We looked around and luckily we found her rather quickly. I saw her come out of the bathroom with her pants around her ankles. She didn't quite get there in time so she was totally wet. I had to remind her that she should tell me BEFORE she leaves to go to the bathroom so I can help her.
That pretty much sums up my first day as a soccer mom.

Christy, I love the way you capture the essence of the experience both with pictures and with the way you tell about it.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry, when we lost Whitney at soccer, she wasn't in the bathroom, she was in the parking lot! Yikes! I hate it when they do that!
ReplyDeleteGlad that Caleb had fun. . .AND that it didn't rain!
Cute! It looks like a beautiful day there too.
ReplyDeleteOne of the parents brought bubbles to a tee ball game and that occupied the little siblings for a while. Maybe you could try that for Eva.
