Are you excited that it is March? The long, dark days of February are over and I'm looking forward to a pleasant Spring. One thing that was good about February---I did a great job on my habit. I had a menu plan every week and for the most part I stuck to it. There were some days that got moved around but we were well fed and I don't think I wasted a lot of time and money at the grocery store. I now have a strong testimony of menu planning and have seen the benefits that it can have in my life. I shall continue the journey.
For March, I really want to get rid of some of the clutter that is weighing me down. This comes mainly in the form of my craft room. Because I have a whole room to fill with my crafty goodness, I can't help but fill it. The problem? Now I can't craft in there because a yarn/stamp/fabric bomb has exploded and I have no room to do anything about it. Here are my before pictures.

I've already started cataloging my yarn and I've even listed some of it on my "sell or trade" page on ravelry. I want to get down to a manageable amount of yarn and not buy more until I have room for it. I'm certainly not going to be hurting for a while. I'm sure I could knit for a couple of years with what I have in the house right now.
I'm going to continue busting my yarn stash and I've re-purposed a couple of shelves and bins for extra storage in there. I'd really like to have everything in its place in a couple of weeks so I can get some projects done. I'd really like to see my sewing machine again. We need to get reacquainted.

You are very inspiring to the rest of us! Organize ON!!
ReplyDeleteImpressive collection of yarn. I need to organize mine as well. Yes, you are inspiring me to take care of it. :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I'm not the only one who has a room like that! It's been a fun adventure going through it lately though - especially with the kids wanting to help. Good luck.
ReplyDeletePurge, baby, purge!! Great job and good luck on this habit!
ReplyDeleteI need to do my craft stuff too! I had a baby in sept and since then the big kids have been in and out of my previously organized craft supplies. Needless to say, it is now a shambles! Starting from scratch over here!
ReplyDeleteGood luck, can't wait to see the 'after' pics!
Remember back when I organized my craft room? Well, I've had a bunch of unfinished projects start since then and my craft room looks the same. I keep telling myself I need to clean, but it's just so much more fun to play.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you're off to a great start! I can't imagine a room full of crafty goodness but I'm sure that it would get out of hand quickly if it were in my house. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteGreat, we're both working in our studios this month! I have a bigger problem with paperwork but if I get some craft supplies out of here I will have more room for organizing papers. Good luck to both of us!
