Step Away From the Shoe Polish

Russwood stepped up and is actually treating us like valuable customers now. This is saving me from shoe polishing my car and stalking the dealership trying to drive away business.

They are going to give us $100 to fix the water pump and paying for half of a spare key.

I'm appeased.

  1. Spare keys don't usually cost very much. Or is it the kind with the automatic door lock on the keychain? Someday I'll have a car that has those. *sigh* That's good that they are stepping up. Although I'd have love to see pictures of signs posted in your yard against them. Is it only because Carl is home now?

  2. The key is going to cost us $65 (half price!). It's a pain. Had we known that they weren't going to include a spare key, we would have included that in our bargaining. Live and learn.

  3. I was wondering what was going on with the car situation. Has Carl tried to make it up to you in any way possible? I still think the "Olathe Dodge sells Lemons"idea is a good way to go....

  4. Carl's suffering enough with how much it is costing to get it fixed. Plus, I'm making him deal with everything now that he's home. He has to take it to the shop, talk with the guys, etc...

  5. Wow, that's a mega expensive key. I guess you will each have one and then now have a spare? I cannot believe a key can cost that much. Thank goodness for technology these days right!? Yeah, I think it is suffering to have to deal with dealerships. What a pain. I'm sorry.

  6. We just got one key when we bought the car. We have to buy the extra.

  7. Well all I can say it that our key broke off in the ignition Superbowl Sunday.... they not only got the key out but broke something in the steering column and I am still dealing with their main manager because the service manager was just as rude as the tech. Plus the car beeps even when the key and lights are off. And the grand total with our repair... $500 (165 parts the rest labor) They only cut us one key but another is only $15. How I love my town and country *argh* Steve says any more out of town repairs mean a new van Yeah! for me.

  8. I love my Town and Country and haven't had any problems with it. I wonder how much of the problems really have to do with the dealer. We bought ours from a Jeep dealer who apparently is ranked like #1 in the nation...for what, I can't remember, but they were very nice. We got two keys automatically with our car...it should be standard to have two keys. That's lame that they are trying to charge you for an extra one.Tony's parents, and like 3 of his siblings all have T&C's and have all raved about them, and haven't had any probs, so i am sorry to hear that you are. Good luck again with it all!
