Love is in the Air

I did a fair amount of Valentine making over the weekend. I needed 16 for Caleb's classmates and teachers and I made a few extra for his Primary teachers. I think they turned out really nicely. Caleb helped me with the inside. As you can see, he is working on writing his name. If you look closely you can see most of the letters...just not placed in the right spot. His b's look like p's and his e's are just a little curve. But, he's getting it. Plus, he is consumed with tracing his hand. These cards were too small but he did manage to get some fingers on there. He traced my hand with the magnadoodle the other day and then wrote MOM above it. So cute!

Shhh. Don't tell Carl. Here is his Valentine. I really, really like how it turned out. It is a coupon book. This is the outside. And, here is the inside. There are 4 coupons inside and they have a perforated edge so you can tear one out at a time. I'm not totally sure what all of the coupons are going to be yet but I'm sure he'll like them and he'll be happy that I spent no money (if you don't count the insane amount of money I spend on paper/stamps/ribbon/etc...).

Got big plans for Valentine's Day? I'd love to hear them.

  1. Those are all soo cute Christy. We don't have plans for Valentines day, but we are going on a date to the temple together on Saturday. It's our wards temple day and we are going to have our first date with a babysitter other than family since Thomas was born. I guess we could count that.

  2. Nice Valenties. I think you went above and beyond the call of duty on the ones for Caleb's classmates. Carl should be thrilled with his too. Believe me Carl wasn't having a great time at those meetings -- I was at the same meetings. It was a long day.
Hope you have a good week. See you at Enrichment tomorrow night.

  3. So Cute! Everyone is going to love them. They should feel really special to get one. I REALLY liked your coupon book. I gave Tyler a little book for our anniversary (not as cute as yours!), and I can't think of anything else to get him for Valentine's Day. I know we will probably will go down to McCord's Candies and get a milkshake or something. He has scouts that night--so not anything too exciting happening here!

  4. Forgot to mention our Valentine's Day plans. We actually celebrated Valentine's Day on last Friday.
We went to the Lied and saw "The Producers"-- before the show we had dinner at Spaghetti Works and I splurged and had a dish of spumoni ice cream! I tried to make a deal with Dale this evening that we do nothing else for Valentine's Day -- we are looking at trips in April, May, and June --but he always feels "guilty" and ends up getting me something. I really don't want anything else!

  6. Christy,
Soooo sorry to hear about your car (I'm a little behind on my blog reading). Car trouble SUCKS!!! On a different note, you have more talent than anyone I know...the Valentines look AWSOME!! Way to go, Supermom. Hope things get better with the wheels..

  7. Thanks for all the nice comments on the cards. I just couldn't justify going out to buy Valentines when I have a whole room full of supplies to make my own! I kept them pretty simple.

We're going to do dinner and a movie on Friday night for our celebrating.

  8. Christy,
I had such good intentions for Valentine's day, but it is tomorrow, and I have no idea what to do/get for Tony. I haven't even bought any Valentine's candy! It snowed last night too, so who wants to go out in the snow? Plus, I can't drive due to the surgery and pain meds, and I don't want to take the baby out if i can avoid it, so i will have to send my mom. Thank goodness she is here!

BTW... what is the situation with the van?

  9. The van is fixed but we don't know whether or not they are going to pay for the leaks. Carl is going to call them today. I'm done dealing with them.

  10. Useful information, many thanks to the author. It is puzzling to me now, but in general, the usefulness and significance is overwhelming. Very much thanks again and best of luck!
