Lace

Remember how I started off the month with big Knitting Olympic-esque plans to knit a lace shawl in February?

I think I have to refine that goal now and make it: pick a pattern for the lace shawl in February!

I've chosen the Mountain Peaks Shawl by Miriam.

I didn't get my act together this month but now that I have my pattern my only goal is to have this started and finished before the county fair. Once it wins some ribbons (and it better!), I'll give the shawl to a blog reader.

  1. Give it to a blog reader!! Yeah! I feel a contest coming on. . .

Since I'm the first to respond, am I the winner? A girl's gotta try!

  2. I actually posted about this a month ago and had people tell me in the comments if they wanted it. I've had two requests so far. I'll add you to it. I think I'm going to have some kind of drawing. But, if you REALLY want one, Tiffany---you are my best friend forever---I'll make you one with the pattern of your choice! You might not get it until next year, but you'll get it.

Please put my name on the blog list of requestor's! I am a faithful reader and I have been teaching myself to knit. I know I won't make it to lace anytime soon.
Also, I hope you blog as you progress with this project.
    Lots o' photos please.

  5. I'll have the actual drawing in September and I'll probably have people comment on a post to be entered. I have to make it first!

But, with people interested it is making me more motivated to get it done soon. Maybe I'll download the pattern and start tomorrow.

  6. It is a fantastic pattern and I love that it is inspired by the Rocky and Wasatch mountains. I don't know what I would do with a shawl so I don't need to enter the contest but I would love to see it when you are finished. What color are you going to do it in?

  7. It's going to be ivory. I think it's going to be a winner!
