Dream House

We went and looked at houses #1 and #3 this afternoon. The first house was everything I had imagined. But, I'm not ready to run out and buy it. It has beautiful hard wood floors and an awesome backyard. A great old house. But, it's not that big. We can get a much bigger house for the money if we find a newer one in a less "prestigious" neighborhood. That house just didn't give us room to grow. It would have been the perfect house for us had we been "empty nesters" instead of "nest fillers".

House number 3 was a disaster. The inside made no sense whatsoever. It had vaulted ceilings in the main living space and a wall dividing it from a hallway that only went up halfway. It had ugly wallpaper and really old appliances. No way José. No wonder it was so much cheaper.

Time to keep looking!

  1. OH we're on the house hunt too. we've been looking for 2 months and though we thought we found the ONE it wasn't and since we're renting an apartment we've decided we're not going to settle. we are going to get what we want and how we want it. LOL
    good luck!

  2. Oh, house hunting is such a hassle. But don't settle! Bigger isn't necessarily better. We just downsized from a huge new house in the 'burbs to a smaller, older house in the city. We have about half the space we did before, but we're much happier. Anyway, good luck! And you're all signed up for the sock-a-month knit-along. Looks like you've got a good start on a couple pairs!
