I think a lot of adoptive parents feel the same way about how their children were "meant to be" a part of their family. I have just another example of why Frog was definitely meant to be my son. He came up to me yesterday with a DVD in his hand.
Frog: More? More Chitty Chitty Bang Bang?
Me: You want to watch Chitty Chitty Bang Bang?
Frog: Mmm hmm. singing Chitty bang bang chitty chitty bang bang....chitty chitty bang bang we love you!

Christie, I don't know you except from your blog and being a fellow Team Deseret member. My children are not adopted, but many of my friends are and without a doubt we know that that is where they were meant to be. For some, its that they look the spitting image of their parents; for others, whose race is different, the similarities seem to stand out even more. It just more purely confirms to me that HF had a plan and knows what he's doing - we're just here for the ride and if we're lucky - we're truly blessed beyond our wildest imaginations around the way. There is a quote by Willa Cather (don't know who she is) "Where there is great love, there are always miracles" - which sums up how my adoptive parents and adopted children feel - great love.

Willa Cather is an author from Nebraska. We're actually reading one of her books for our book club tonight. I love that quote!

ReplyDeleteThat is pretty funny about Frog. My bio daughter could be anyones child...she is SOOO NOT me. My adopted son is my little clone (except the race thing). He is me.
