Specs: Based on the Gentlemen's Plain Winter Socks in Knitting Vintage Socks by Nancy Bush. I didn't use the same heel but the concept was from that sock.
100% Shetland Wool in Charcoal.
I love how they turned out. They are for my uncle for Christmas and I just dropped them off at the county fair. Let's hope that he gets AWARD WINNING socks for Christmas!
It looks really comfy. Are they scratchy at all? Are they fairly heavy? Good luck at the fair!
ReplyDeleteThe wool itself is a little scratchy. But, when it's knit up they feel really nice. Carl was liking them a lot. They aren't too heavy because it is fingering weight. I knit them on size 3 needles.
ReplyDeleteWoohoo! I knew you'd get them done once we got out of your hair :-). Good luck at the fair. I'm sure you'll smash the competition. Then, bring all your stuff to me so I can enter it in my county fair--I'll split the booty, $5 for 1st prize??
