Sugar Daddy and I have declared that we will do no more packing. Yep, that's right. We're done. Are we really? Nope. We're just going to deal with it. We're going to be able to start putting stuff in the house tomorrow night and we're just going to do multiple trips until we're tired. Then, we'll get the house we're in now ready for the people to help us move the big stuff on Saturday. We can leave all sorts of trash and all the garage sale stuff behind to go through later since we'll have our rental through the end of the month. I am trying to get all the laundry done before we go but I just used the last bit of detergent and I don't know whether I want to open the new box or not. I'll consult with SD tonight about that one.
I have a feeling this "no more packing" is going to bite us in the butts big time. So, I'm trying to use as little energy as possible during these next few days so I'm ready for all heck to rain down upon me. Time to go and have a quick lie down on the couch!

I totally know how you feel. When Casey and I got to this point, we just starting throwing everything out! It was kind of fun and liberating at the same time. Let me know what you need help with. Just think... Applebee's... bday celebration... tonight. Do you think our Bishops would mind if we tossed back a couple...(cokes that is... geez, what were you thinking)? :)

You'll be just fine. . .it makes sense not to drive yourself crazy packing for moving, what, a couple blocks away? All that packing boxes is for the birds right? When we moved just across town, we got all our friends together and just loaded cars, drove over and unloaded. And for the clothes, we just left them on hangers, it made it a lot easier to transfer. Let me know if you need an extra van, or I can watch your kiddos so you can load/unload. . .
ReplyDeleteHello! It's Arbee, an ex Okie living in San Antonio, who linked to your sight from Melessa. Anyway, I am somewhat of a nomad and I totally agree that packing for a short move is for the birds! In my last move my laundry baskets were priceless, all my stuff on hangers ended up in the laundry baskets and then got hung in the closet at my "new" house. As long as the stuff you're having the help move is packed properly, the rest is up to you how you want to haul it. :) You'd think I loved moving by how many times I have done it since my move to SA (5 times in the last 6 years), but I really do not enjoy the chore at all! YUCK!
ReplyDeleteWelcome Arbee! I hear you about being a nomad. We've been married for almost 8 years and we haven't lived in a house or apt. for more than 2 yrs. since then. Poor Frog has lived in 3 different houses and he's only 3 (not counting this next one we're moving to).
ReplyDeleteI've got bins and baskets ready to go!
