Here It Is!

Here's the new and improved crafty conservative. I was totally going to change the name but in the end decided that I didn't really need to. Here were some of the contenders...

1. Loco en el coco. This translates literally to crazy in the coconut. It's just a slang way to say crazy in the head.

2. Pies Descalzos. Translated to bare feet. I really liked this one. So deep. Think about all the bare feet in this house and how I want to knit them socks! It all came down to the fact that I figured people would think I was crazy for having pies (the food) in the title of my blog even though I really meant the spanish word for feet.

3. What's this? Christy's Blog? CHRISTY'S BLOG!!!! MMmmmHmmm. This title was inspired by the Frog and conceived of by Sugar Daddy. At first I was like, uh...no way. Then it kind of grew on me. In the end I realized that I didn't want my blog to be named after something that Frog says all of the time and a lot of people wouldn't get it.

I'm just glad to have this up and running now. I'll be adding my links and other goodies to the sidebar in the next day or two. I'll probably blog again later today. I've been saving up all of my good stuff!

  1. I love the new look a lot!!! I would have liked it if Pies were in the title too. :)

I went over to your old house and took the shower curtain.... I think it will work perfectly. I didn't take the rug though, I don't thing it would have worked with the whole earth tone thing going on. Thank you!!!!

  2. I love it! Hey, that template wasn't available when I changed mine!! LOVE the argyle (I know that's not spelled right!) How's the settling in going? When are you done with the old place? Garage sale yet?

  3. deb-glad you could use the shower curtain!

wendy-I didn't use a blogger template. That's why it took me so long to change it. Not quite settled yet but we had our garage sale and we made some good $$ and got rid of lots of stuff! btw, you totally spelled it correctly!

  4. I love the new look. I should change mine, it's so plain. I'm just too lazy to fix all the side bar stuff.

    Looks Good!

  5. Looks great! I like the argyle and the green and the stars . . . basically, I like everything.

Naming blogs is difficult, so I understand why you kept your old name. It took me MONTHS to come up with a name for mine, and it probably still seems weird and un-catchy to readers.

  6. I love the new look! It makes me want to mess with mine, but I don't dare. I know my technophobic self too well.

I love it! You're awesome. Did you get the background from a site or did you make it yourself? I want to make a blog, but I want to start it off looking cool like this so I don't have to worry with rearranging all the links and stuff later on. Give some advice to a clueless homegirl.

  9. Catherine- I just did a search for some free blogger templates. There are some that you can put in what you want and it will generate the html for you. Carl ended up being no help at all so I was forced to figure it out myself. You should have no problem at all! Well, maybe a few problems---I had a lot----but in the end it all worked out. :)
