Some Options

You guys are all super smart and I love that you're helping me make this decision.  I've found a couple of pictures I'd like to throw out there for your opinions.

Our downstairs is kind of a sage green (and green is my signature color, you know!) so I don't think it would look entirely out of place.

Here is a blue option.  Not a fan of this particular one but I can see that this kind of color might look nice in the space.

Decisions are the worst.*

*name that movie.  HINT: 80's dance flick that I LOVE!!!

  1. That is a tough choice! I really like the lightness of the green though. The blue is pretty, but dark. Do you want your cabinets dark?

  2. I prefer the sage green or a cream color. I'd stick to as close to a neutral palette as possible. Think about eventual resale of your home. Can you imagine how many coats of primer to cover up that blue? (A lot. We had navy trim in our Maryland kitchen!)

I vote for the green too. It's much prettier than I imagined. I don't know how well it would fit with the existing wall colors though. I hate trying to imagine how colors will look after you paint. I just don't have an artist's eye.

  4. The blue is nice but may be too much for your kitchen. If you wanted blue I would say keep it to the bottom with a cream for the upper, or the island only, but you may also need to paint over the red wall with the same yellow you have. Otherwise the blue and red will compete and people won't know what to look at. The green is nice but I still think I'd keep it to the bottom only and neutral on top.

I like the green too. When I did mine, I did the raised edge a contrasting color. I did a cream with a "peanut butter" contrast.

  6. I vote to go with the green. (Blue might be too dark.)

  9. I'd have to vote.... neither. I am a big fan of natural wood color. I would like the sage green on the walls.

  10. I vote for the green...but I am probably biased, since I just bought a sofa/chair in a similar green hue. :)

p.s. Girls Just Want to Have Fun...by Natalie Sands...when she is picking an outfit! Am I right? :D

  11. I really like the green, but I'm a bit biased for that color (it's almost the same shade as my website!). Blue would be nice too, but maybe a lighter shade of blue, like a steel blue instead?
