My Top 5 Stressers...and other reasons I may not be blogging regularly

The Crafty Conservative

1. We're moving in less than six weeks to Lincoln, Nebraska. We don't have a place to live yet and Sugar Daddy wants us to pack up the house ourselves, even though the university will pay for that.

2. Having a six week old baby in the house doesn't make it easy to pack. With just Frog it's hard enough. But combined, it's near impossible to have 2 adults available at any given time.

3. Our basement is flooded. It has loads of our stuff (already packed and some waiting to be...) down there. SD won't let me go down there. It stinks.

4. I'm behind on the laundry. It's in the basement. So, see #3.

5. I'm tired and I can't think of anything good to write about. The kids are the same (although Frog is taking his singing to a new level with "The Battle Hymn of the Republic"...a song we're practicing for the choir). My life is the same. I'm working in the mornings. I come home. I work harder. I stress about all I have to do but can't because my hands are almost constantly full with one child or another. I think that's about it.

Wait! I thought of more.

5.1 I also have to get out my SP4 package. And my thank you notes (written already, thank goodness!). And the baby announcements (waiting on finding out our new address so I can include that). I hate the post office.

5.2 Our social worker is coming next week for a post-placement visit. It's necessary for the adoption to be finalized (May 24th). Our house is an absolute MESS!!!

5.3 We're flying out to Nebraska for 2 days next week. The whole family. All of us. Yep, all of us. We're going to try and find a place to live. Sound like fun? Oh, yeah. Going on a plane and living in a hotel for 2 days with a 2 year old and an infant. Lovely. But, once we find a place to live I think my stress level will go down.

5.4 I'm trying to get a Pampered Chef order together for this month. I'm closing it out April 30th. Shameless plug: If anyone wants to order anything, let me know by email (free shipping or 10% off...whichever is greater). I was going to quit after this month but I have one more show scheduled now in May. Oh yeah, I should probably start getting my act together for that one.

5.5 I'm teaching the lesson in church this Sunday for our women's group. I haven't read it yet. I couldn't even tell you the title.

Maybe now I'm done. I thought this might help getting all of the things I have to do in writing. But, now it's making me feel a little more overwhelmed. So, what the heck am I doing on the computer???? I better get to work!

It's refreshing that #5 isn't "I just think that there should be a 5th item."

I'll talk to SD about the letting the university pay for the move. Knowing him, I'm certain that his way saves a buck, but it's all about how you value your time...

When we moved here we had the same option for moving. Tell SD that having the uni pay for the pack and move is a must. Moving to a new state/job/life is stressful enough without kids, but it's gotta be nuts with 2 kids and a job! You work hard enough. Having someone else pack you alleviates some of that, just take my advice and leave while they pack (that can be a bit stressful). I'll talk to him for you if you like :-)
