Winter Wonderland

In an effort to prepare myself for the cold weather, I've been knitting myself a winter ensemble. Oh yeah, baby. I've made a scarf (Wavy from www.knitty.com), mittens with an argyle pattern (from Family Circle Easy Knitting magazine fall issue...they were on the cover), and a hat. The hat is too small and I don't like that I used the flamingo pink as the main color. I'm re-doing it with the burgundy color as the MC and the pink as the contrast. But, that small hat still counts as a finished object so I'm now up to 38 for the year.
We're leaving today to go to Oklahoma for Thanksgiving. We'll probably leave in an hour or two. I may or may not be blogging while I'm gone. But, I'll be back in town at the end of the weekend and regular blogging should resume next week.

Lovely! I think you're right to redo the hat with the colors switched, but the other two look great. I'd love to see a closeup of the mittens if you have a few spare minutes after Thanksgiving. I'm impressed with the way you whip out fair isle (or is it intarsia? I still confuse the two, even though I've done both, and I didn't enjoy the fair isle one bit).

You now produce about eight finished objects for every one of mine. I need to get crackin'!

The scarf is really pretty. I like the little flowers (or whatever they are). I think you will like the hat better with the colors reversed.

  4. I just reversed the colors on the hat and I like it much better! I started the hat before I finished the mittens and I didn't know if I'd have enough of the ruby red to make a whole hat. Well, I did!

The pattern on the mittens is argyle. I'll make sure and do a close-up shot of them soon.
